Hong Kong, which has decided to recognize the validity of COVID-19 vaccination certificates issued by South Korea, will allow entry to only those who have completed vaccination with the South Korean vaccine from 2021.
Accordingly, the Hong Kong Tourism Board and digital marketing company Avocado Giant launched a digital advertising campaign to raise awareness about the safety and appeal of traveling to Hong Kong, and to make people aware that traveling to Hong Kong is possible.

AvocadoGiant has chosen Naver, the number one search portal site in Korea, and KakaoTalk, which is used by the majority of Koreans, as its main communication channels to inform as many people as possible about the possibility of traveling to Hong Kong.

AvocadoGiant was also in charge of producing materials to be used in display advertising. We created materials with two concepts: Hong Kong quarantine and outdoor activities, in order to appeal to the charm of safe travel to Hong Kong in various ways.

Naver is the number one search portal site in Korea and has high advertising coverage, making it a suitable channel for the Hong Kong Tourism Board’s advertising campaign.
Among the numerous Naver advertising media, AvocadoGiant chose display advertising in the main travel content area of Naver, which is visited to check travel information. At that time, Naver could not execute two advertising materials at the same time, so it executed the advertisements in two stages.
When the same advertising material is exposed every day, advertising fatigue can increase, so we used a display advertising strategy that utilized the same image but various advertising copy to arouse people’s curiosity, and when the advertising banner is clicked, it takes you to the official Hong Kong Tourism Board blog, allowing you to see various Hong Kong travel content.
As a result, it was successful in stimulating curiosity and anticipation about traveling to Hong Kong, achieving approximately 1.863 million impressions and 162,000 clicks.

KakaoTalk advertising, which is used by many people, was also conducted with the same goal as Naver.
Among the eight official images and homepage images received from the Hong Kong Tourism Board, we selected the image that best fit the advertising theme and planned the advertising text according to the advertising banner type and specifications.
Kakao Display Advertising focused on displaying highly effective advertising materials through AB testing, and as a result, achieved the amazing results of approximately 3.081 million impressions and 182,000 clicks.
A display advertising campaign that considers Hong Kong travel targets, identifies the channels they frequently visit, informs them that Hong Kong travel is possible on these channels, and maximizes advertising results through AB testing. It was also an advertisement that served as a ray of light to those who were exhausted due to Corona.
